This place has been here for many years. Every time I go it's always busy with people going in and out making orders. Picked up 2 patties today, jerk pork, and jerk chicken. Everything was absolutely delicious as always. Tasted fresh and was very flavorful. The people are always nice too. This is my go to Jamaican spot in all of Kendall.
Sometimes I forget how good this place is!! Today I ordered 1/4 dark jerk chicken lunch with gungo peas rice and oxtail gravy! OMG! Perfect!! So yummy!! Also got 2 mild beef patties and a veggie stew peas!! Everything was so delicious!! I have a little leftover for a snack tomorrow.
Ordered takeout oxtail from here and it was . Faster than the estimated wait time and everything was cooked to perfection/the meat fell off the bone. Will definitely be back in person soon
Food and service was great. We will definitely be back. I'm not Jamaican but food tasted authentic. We had the ox tail, jerk chicken dinner and took some Jamaican patties, all delicious.
My first time here! The food was delish (see bites taken out of beef patty before a picture could be taken.) Keep in mind that most everything is made fresh so if you order there, be ready to wait 20-30 mins. The beef patties are made ahead of time though, so you can likely order one while you wait - which I highly recommend.
Always on point. This is my go to for good food, always. Jerk Pork Dinner with rice and peas. Plantains. Curry chicken patty. Always fresh. The customer service is beyond impressive. Feels like Being at a friends house. Great ambiance, as mentioned it feels like Home. Again... always delicious and fresh. I was on the run for forgot my Kola. Make sure you grab it to Wash down the spicy treat.
Support your local, family-owned businesses! Jamaica Kitchen is one of my favorite spots for a home cooked, affordable lunch. You can't go wrong with their jerk chicken with rice and peas or any of their patties. The ladies are always so friendly and have a good attitude despite being very busy. It's a small spot in a strip mall next to Winn Dixie. No indoor seating (but a few tables outside) so your best bet is to pick up an order to go.
Authentic Jamaican food for great prices. I've never been to the actual location to be honest I have only ordered out from them. Every year at LEAST for one holiday we order from Jamaica Kitchen. We basically get the most food to enjoy everything this spot has to offer. I have tried everything and can easily tell you it taste authentic and taste amazing. Their patties are el fuego. I love them spicy but will eat them both mild and spicy. Beef and cheese patties omg. Melt in your mouth good. I've also had the oxtail and jerk chicken. So good. They have the best jerk chicken. It's spicy but not crazy spicy. Their fried rice and pigeon peas are also superb. Really great spot to grab food Jamaican food. Will be catering with them again very soon.
Been here a few times, but haven't had a chance to review. This place is a hidden gem. I had the jerk lunch chicken portion as well as a (jerk) and (curry) Jamaican beef patty. Delicious food. They have a full menu with plenty of various options. Their soups look good. Will try those next! Place is always busy and they are extremely nice and welcoming.
This place lives up to its name in being a "Jamaican Kitchen" because outside of serving food there are a bunch of Jamaican goods that you can get there too! Definitely adds charm and makes this place a unique dining experience. Free parking is available within the lot, however this place does have limited seating inside, but you can always opt to eat outside or take the food to go. The place has a "hole in the wall" more intimate feel to it. Food was phenomenal! I was pissed when I looked down and saw that I cleared my plate. Oxtails were literally fall off the bone and paired so perfectly with the rice!Food was flavorful with a slight spicy kick which was super refreshing because my spice tolerance is low and I hate to feel like I'm battling my food. I'm not kidding when I say the plate was so good that I mentally checked out mid conversation with someone and could only focus on my food at one point in time. The portions were also good too; despite me getting a lunch plate I was super satisfied. The one and only critique I do have is the cabbage could've used some more seasoning. Also head's up I went in at 11-11:30 am and there were some items that were not available yet so you may want to wait until dinner to get a broader taste of the menu. Service was great! Staff was kind, attentive, and super helpful. Despite me placing my order within the restaurant it did not take long to get at all. They also packaged the food very nicely! The saran wrap helped to ensure I didn't have any leakage from the oxtail (thank God). All in all I would DEFINITELY return again. Great food, great service, great holistic Jamaican find.
